This entry for the "My Proof of Survival" column appeared in the November/December 2010 issue of FATE magazine, reprinted from the October, 1956 issue. In it, Ms. Eddy describes her account of visiting H.P. Lovecraft's grave (which she did often) and how she believed she received a message from Lovecraft in the form of a curious object.
Muriel Elizabeth (Gammons) Eddy (January 19, 1896 - January 30, 1978) was born in Taunton, Massachusetts. She lived for many years in California, but then moved back to Providence, Rhode Island for the rest of her life where she taught creative writing and wrote professionally herself. She married the writer, C.M. Eddy in 1918 and together they produced a number of weird tales. Mr. Eddy is known for his infamous story of necrophilia, "The Loved Dead", in collaboration with Lovecraft.
